This is a tried and tested old favourite and it’s not far from home!
The start point is the car park for Piper’s Hill and Dodderhill Commons Nature Reserve. From there we take the path to Hanbury Church which has been used for some recordings of The Archers. There are fine views from the hilltop churchyard. Next we cross the park of Hanbury Hall (NT) on a public footpath and over fields to Birmingham and Worcester Canal which we follow to Hammond Bridge. Then we go through the pleasant village of Hadzor, cross the Roman Salt Road to Hanbury Wharf on the Droitwich Canal. We’ll probably have lunch overlooking the junction of the two canals before walking back to Astwood Bottom Lock then a different route across Hanbury Park to Piper’s Hill.

The going under foot is easy. We cross one main road where there is good visibility and there are only a few stiles.
We will start walking at 10 am.
We look forward to seeing you there.

Normally on a Sunday walk, there will be a short tea break after an hour and a lunch break at approximately 01:00 pm, or two thirds of the way through the walk. Please make sure you bring food and plenty of water.
