Overview

This moderate walk is moderate-plus in length. The route is south to join the river Dove in Beresford Dale and then up Narrowdale to cross to the north of Alstonefield and enter Wetton village. Crossing below Wetton Hill eventually to ascend Ecton Hill. Dropping down to join the Manifold trail and head north to Hulme End, from there crossing fields back to Hartington.  Risk assessment: Possibility of livestock in fields. Stiles to stride particularly stone stiles on return to Hartington. Several stretches of road to navigate. If wet there will be mud in parts along the route. No difficult climbs but steepish descent off Ecton Hill.
