Overview

Starting from Daisy Nook we will first go west along an old canal before heading across Brookedale Golf club and on to Woodhouse Green. We then skirt the wonderfully named Crime Lake before heading back to the country park and along the River Medlock. We pass through Park Bridge and various industrial heritage buildings before heading along small roads and tracks leading to Hartshead Pike, where hopefully we will have some great views. The return route is via the Tameside Trail and a disused railway track to Holden Clough and back through Daisy Nook.

This is a moderate walk of around 10 miles with one main ascent up to Hartshead Pike, total ascent 1125 ft. Some tracks will be muddy!
