Overview

A circular walk with about 300m ascent (and likely plenty of mud), i.e. net 3 1/2 to 4 hours of walking, led by Thomas G (Mobile No: 07775 676092) joint with Kensington, Chelsea & Westminster Group. Route: Westerly loop through Peter's Wood and Casteye Wood, across railway and through Balcombe, N to Walk Wood, NE to Great Wood, E to Forest Farm, then road S and footpath E across Ardingly Reservoir to Tillinghurst Farm and into Little London, road N to Wakehurst, footpath W through it and across Ardingly Brook, SW past Balcombe Lake into Balcombe (The Half Moon Inn and JO-CO coffee shop [this closes at 15.30 though]) and to the station. Wakehurst ("Kew's wild botanic garden") will be passed through on rights-of-way, the main grounds are ticketed though (NT). Lunch: ' The Gardener's Arms', Little London (Hall & Woodhouse), about halfway (or bring a picnic).
