Overview

An 8-8.5 mile linear walk from Charlton Station to Eltham Station led by Sue C along the Green Chain Walk. We’ll travel via Charlton Manor (built 1607-1612), Severndroog Castle (1784) and Eltham Palace, childhood home of King Henry VIII (sadly, only the medieval hall remains of the original palace). Through Woolwich Common and the famous, 72-hectare Oxleas Woods (Classified Ancient Woodland). Toilets at Oxleas Café. Picnic lunch on benches later. 6 minutes walk from Eltham Palace to Eltham Station. Map: E162, London A-Z.
