Meet Point: Near the ticket barriers, or on the Metrolink platform at Manchester Victoria Station. Alternatively, meet the group on the tram, or at the Walk Start at Rochdale station.

Transport to Walk Start: 11:07 tram from Manchester Victoria. 11:04 train from Manchester Victoria

Suggested Ticket: Off Peak Day Return to Rochdale £5.90 (tram) Off Peak Day Return to Rochdale £8.40 (train)

Extra: Please use the toilet on the train. Toilets at Healey Dell Heritage and Tea Rooms. Optional drinks at the end of the walk. Please do not bring your dog (apart from assistance dogs)

This is a shortish walk from Rochdale station, through Rochdale town centre past the iconic Seven Sisters and along the river Spodden Valley.  The route then passes through both wooded and industrial areas towards Healey Dell Nature Reserve's waterfalls and former war time munitions factory which is now an area of natural water features and woodland trails. The walk the heads towards the Pennine Bridleway, circling back towards Healey Dell, along the disused Bacup branch line and then a short walk back towards Rochdale town centre. 

Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear as there will be mud!
