The route takes us to the Macclesfield Canal heading south under the A6 to Bridge 13 where we cross to the other side of the canal and head for Platt Fold Farm. From there we briefly enter Lyme Park before crossing a ladder stile into Elmerhurst Wood. We leave the wood and re-enter Lyme Park below Lyme Cage and head towards the cafe where there are public toilets. From here we continue south, passing Green Farm to re-cross the Macclesfield Canal and head through The Coppice to Lane Ends Farm. We return via the Middlewood Way, passing public toilets at the Nelson Pit Museum, Higher Poynton, and return to the Macclesfield Canal via Jacksons Brickworks Nature Reserve. We rejoin the canal and head north back to the car park.
