Horton Country Park and Ashtead Common

From Epsom Station bus E10 at 10:26 to Horton Country Park. Connecting trains to Epsom from Wimbledon at 9:40 and from Sutton at 9:58.  Buses 166, 293 and S2 are an alternative.  Toilets at start of walk. The paths on this walk have all dried out but are rutted in places so boots advisable.  There are two stiles.  Coffee at The Barn at Rushett Farm (outside but there is some cover) and then walk across Ashtead Common to Ashtead Station. Optional lunch at The Woodman at Ashtead or picnic at end of walk. For the return journey from Ashtead Station a rail ticket will be required.  If travelling by train to Epsom on the outward journey purchase a return to Ashtead.  The return journey from Ashtead will be by a replacement bus service to Epsom due to engineering works then train for the remainder of the journey.  I estimate that those not going to The Woodman for lunch or a drink will be back in Sutton by 13:41 or Wimbledon by 14:06.  Add 90 minutes for those having lunch.  Text by 1pm on Friday 2nd if pub lunch required.
