A walk around the grand buildings, beautiful courtyards and gardens of the Inns of Court in central London, discovering their history which goes back to the middle ages. We will visit all four Inns of Court, Inner and Middle Temple, Lincoln’s Inn and Gray’s Inn.
Starting at Blackfriars station we will meander through Inner Temple, with its gardens and squares, to Middle Temple, from here we cross The Strand, and pass the Royal Courts of Justice, which house the Supreme Court, followed by the Law Society and Ede & Ravenscroft the oldest tailor in London and traditional outfitter to Barristers. The next inn we visit is Lincolns Inn probably the best preserved of all the Inns, it covers 11 acres and finally we visit Gray’s Inn before making our way to Temple station.
We will stop in one of the garden’s for lunch. Either bring a packed lunch or buy takeaway food and drinks from one of the shops or cafés nearby.
Although the walk is only 4 miles long we will be visiting some of the buildings along the way, there is a lot to see, so expect the walk to end around 3:30 pm, at Temple underground station.
There are numerous drop out points.
There are toilets at Blackfriars station.
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors, such as, weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
