From the shore at Burntisland we walk through the village and climb the Binn hill, with superb views up and down the Firth of Forth. The route takes us on to Kinghorn Loch, by the Ecology Centre, often busy with wildlife and water sports. Then the walk continues via the golf course and close to Pettycur Bay above the Fife coastline, looking across to Edinburgh and the Pentlands. We return by the coast roadside to Burntisland.
There are good paths and tracks throughout, with some moderate ascents to the Binn. Some sections could be muddy in wet weather. Care will be required crossing roads, also paying attention to other walkers on busier sections of the route.
