The entrance to Middleton Hall is off the A4091Tamworth Road. The fastest route is via the M6/M42 but it’s possible to avoid that busy stretch of motorway by going along the A38 and adding 5-10 minutes to the journey time. Please note the later than usual start time: 10.30.
We walk though the RSPB Middleton Lakes reserve, along the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal and then a stretch of road walking brings us to a coffee stop at the Kingsbury Visitor Centre with a cafe and toilets. We walk around the lakes and along the river Teme to a lunch spot by the lake with more toilets. Then back along the canal to Middleton Hall.
The walk is flat with no stiles on good paths and some grass. It was all dry when recced but the tow path may be muddy if we get rain this week
