Overview

This is not a typical Chiltern's walk through pretty villages and past chocolate box cottages, instead we will head east to Widdenton Park Wood where we will be greeted by the sound of gunfire coming from the nearby shooting range. Once through the wood we take the path around the perimeter of Wycombe Air Park where we will see a variety of light aircraft but we'll need to beware of low flying planes coming in to land over our heads. Then after a short stretch of road walking we enter Booker Common and cross a couple of minor roads to enter the West Wycombe estate. Here the grouse shooting season is under way and we may see or hear evidence of this as we go through more woodland on our way to Wheeler End common. After we pass through the village of Wheeler End we arrive back to Lane End.
