Update. I am keeping an eye on the weather, but much of the walk is fairly sheltered from the elements by trees, as is the food spot, so we should be protected from the worst of any rain. Forecasts vary, but there is a good indication that the heaviest spell should have passed, or better still stopped, by the start of the walk.
A leisurely walk through woodland and sandstone outcrops with some surprisingly far-reaching views of north Shropshire.
We will explore one of Shropshire’s less well-known National Trust sites, featuring oak woods and sandstone hills, before looping around the Weston Heath tree plantation.
Regrettably, we won’t quite make it to Bury Walls Iron Age hill fort, but we’ll channel our inner Giles nevertheless. 🧙
Disclaimer. Photographs taken on recce walks. Spectacular sunset not guaranteed.
Picnic on route (pack those sandwiches!). 🥪
Drinks at the Stanton Arms following the walk (and perhaps more food?).🍻
