A circular walk on good, clear paths and quiet roads, fairly gentle overall with a couple of short climbs giving varied excellent views of scenery around Loughrigg Fell. The clockwise route initially follows the B road alternative towards Ambleside for 1.5 Km before ascending the fell side to round Ivy Crag, then descend to Loughrigg Tarn. The loop is completed passing the south-eastern point of Grasmere (the water) and alongside Rydal Water to return to the start.
Although a moderate grade the walk will be at a leisurely pace.
Lake District National Park charges apply at Pelter Bridge car park.
There will be an option to visit the Cave(s) near the end of the walk at an additional ascent of 30M/100ft.
