We are the Cleveland Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
From the car park (which has toilet facilities) we cross the Coast Road into the woodland near Long Beck. We then make our way over to Cat Flatt Lane and cross the railway to head onto hedged paths up to New Marske crossing the A174. We then have a steady climb up into Errington Woods - there is one short steep stretch near the end of this climb so please take as much time as you need. There are good views of Redcar and the surrounding sea and countryside from Errington Woods We use footpaths and bridleways to make our way into Soapwell Wood where we will have our break. Our path eventually leads to Quarry Lane and back towards Marske. We will make our way to Marske Valley Gardens and back to the car park. Assistance dogs only.
There will be a ten minute break. Please feel free to bring a drink/snack to enjoy.
Marske (The Stray) car park is located on the Coast Road opposite Bydales Outward Academy School. The car park is free for a maximum stay of 4 hours. However you must use the ticket machine (you will need to enter your car registration) and display your ticket.
