Overview

A varied walk on the edge of the moor, encompassing moorland, woodland, quiet lanes and riverside. Starting at Willsworthy car park, we’ll head to Wheal Jewell via Willsworthy, Brousentor, Hill Bridge and Creason Wood.

Open moorland, mostly on paths and tracks, quiet lanes, woodland and riverside. Some stiles, including a couple of ladder stiles and stone wall stiles. Some up and down. After recent rain and as usual on Dartmoor at this time of year, there is mud and some wetness underfoot in places as well as some slippy rocky areas. One small stream crossing. Gaiters recommended and walking poles will be helpful on occasion. The reward for taking care in these spots is enjoying beautiful woodland and riverside.

Dogs on leads.

Please book by text to walk leader (no emails).

Bring drinks/snacks for our morning coffee stop and a packed lunch.
