Overview

C WALK DESCRIPTION: Leaders: Jane Collins, Alan Keener. 7 miles, 350 ft ascent. Start and finish Moreton-in-the Marsh. Quiet lanes and field paths. Mud in places. No stiles. One steady ascent of 15-20 minutes in the morning. Pub at lunch time, Horse and Groom, at Bourton on the Hill. Possibly another pub The Bell, or cafe at the end, at Moreton in the Marsh. We head north from Moreton in the Marsh on The Diamond Way turning left at Dorn on a lane to Batsford village for a break at the church. Continuing on the lane uphill we then turn left on the outskirts of Batsford Arboretum walking south west. A field path then leads downhill to Bourton on the Hill for lunch. After lunch we continue downhill on the pavement of the A44 through the village. We pick up The Monarch’s Way on the left and follow it east back to Moreton in the Marsh. The fare is £15.
