Overview

A hilly walk with the potential of magnificent views, weather permitting. What better way to start the New Year! The walk will cross Holmwood Common to its viewpoint, then a steady ascent through Redlands Wood, pausing for refreshments (bring your own) at the top. With renewed energy we shall continue on undulating paths to Duke's Warren, before a final short sharp hill to Leith Hill Tower (Surrey's highest point). There we shall pause to enjoy the views and a picnic lunch (kiosk will be open for hot drinks and cakes, but might be busy, so you might prefer to bring your own). We shall be heading gently down via Coldharbour village, Kitlands and across farmland. Then back across Holmwood Common.
