A linear outing that makes good use of the X4 bus, saving CO2 and the planet, and a fine excuse to explore the quieter reaches of the far North‑Western fells. We begin at the dislocated Orient Express beside the old Bassenthwaite Railway Station, before striking south over Sale Fell and Broom Fell, then on to Lord’s Seat. From here the dramatic skyline draws us towards Grisedale Pike, climbed via its mighty North‑East ridge, a superb finish with ever‑widening views. We descend to Braithwaite to complete the second linear walk of season
