A circular walk via two historic towns, Oxted and Westerham, with its distinctive black and white Tudor-style stucco buildings.
We will pass through the ancient woodland, Ridlands Grove, open grassland, and small parts of heathland; following the Greensand way, Vanguard Way and Tandridge Border Path; uneven, gradually inclining or declining paths, may be muddy if after wet weather. Recommend to wear boots and bring poles if you usually walk with them.
There are some splendid views of the surrounding countryside and enjoy the sense of mystery, the soft light, muted colour and intricate details in the woodland.
Lunch is at the beautiful historic village Westerham. There are pubs, tea shops and benches in the Westerham Green and a single-user public toilet at Fullers Hill road nearby. Pubs are usually busy in weekends, so please bring your packed lunch.
