We are the West London Ramblers, mainly covering Ealing and Hounslow, but open to all. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Great Missenden Circular via Prestwood, Hampden Common to Great Hampden for picnic lunch on the common, with time for drinks and use of toilets at 'The Hampden Arms' Pub. Return via Hampden House and Church, Little Hampden and along 'South Bucks Way'. Some ups and downs across a variety of fields and woodlands showing autumn colours. Lovely chiltern views.
A few steady ascents and descents, so walking poles may be helpful if you use them.
Could be muddy in places after wet conditions.
Toilets at Great Missenden Station, Pub and next to Link Rd Carpark for end of walk.
Bring picnic lunch as pub can be busy.
Carparking available in Link Rd (pay and display) and at station.
Travel:- Chiltern Trains Depart Marylebone 9.56, Harrow on the Hill 10.09, Arrive Great Missenden 10.40. If travelling on slower Metropolitan part way, allow extra time and best to transfer to Chiltern trains at Harrow on the Hill.
Meet outside Great Missenden station main entrance for a 10.45 start.
