From Winchcombe town we will walk up the Sudeley Valley to Waterhatch and then onto the headwater of the Beesmoor Brook, calling at St Martins Church at Charlton Abbots before returning via the source of the River Coln. Fields and farm tracks which may be muddy and slippery. The walk for the most part is reasonably good underfoot but there are a few areas that are waterlogged, deep mud and slippery. A few stiles. A long climb up to the church to be taken at your own pace. Two stops, bring a picnic lunch and a snack for the coffee stop. This is a figure of eight walk which can easily be shortened to just under 7 miles by taking a longer lunch break at the church. Wellies and poles are recommended if this is what you usually use. Please also note that as well as the £1 for parking (or Ringo) you will also need a 20 pence coin to access the toilets.
Local walk grade - moderate pace, terrain 2 hilly and level mix.
