There is a limit of 20 people for this walk and booking is essential. Please use the email link after 18 September to book your place.
Catch the 09.02 from Marylebone and change at High Wycombe for the Princes Risborough train. Buy a day return to Aylesbury via any route, ensuring that the ticket enables you to travel to Princes Risborough and return from Great Missenden.
There are hills throughout the day, mostly gentle/short. In the morning we have a long, easy climb through fields and woods before descending for lunch at The Gate Pub in Bryant's Bottom. It serves pub classics and Indian food. If you want a pub lunch, please email Annette by close on Tuesday 23 September at the very latest.
We continue with a steeper climb immediately after lunch and another climb soon after, bothto be taken at a gentle pace. We finish by walking through Great Missenden, where there is a possibility of refreshments before catching the train back to Marylebone (roughly hourly).
There are no lunchtime drop-out options. Expect the possibility of mud, steep climbs and descents, a few stiles and some sections along lanes without pavements. Walking boots are essential and poles might be useful.
Check for ticks after the walk, as there are deer and livestock along the route.
Toilets at both stations were closed when the walk was reccied, but there should be time to use the toilets at High Wycombe, on the outward journey.
