Overview

A circular walk from Putney taking in Putney Common, Barnes Common, the Thames Path and returning on the north bank via Fulham Palace. Flat walk on good surfaces mostly in shade.

We'll stop at All Saints Church on Putney Common with time to view the stained glass windows designed by William Morris and Edward Burne-Jones. 

Early picnic lunch at Vine Road Recreation Ground - cafe (card only) and toilets should be open.  Later stop after Hammersmith Bridge. Walk through new Fulham Pier. Toilets in Bishop's Park and Fulham Palace.

Option to drop out at Barnes Bridge station (train or bus) or Hammersmith Bridge.

Meet at St Mary's Church, Putney where there is a cafe (Putney Pantry) and a display about the Putney Debates. Please arrive early if you want a coffee or to see the exhibition as we'll set off promptly at 10:30. Toilets in Putney Exchange (on first floor up escalator) or Putney Library on Disraeli Road.

St Mary's Church is a short walk from Putney Bridge station (District Line) and Putney Station (train) or on various bus routes (220, 270, 85, 93).
