The route takes us along old tracks and rough stony paths, down to the river at Apperley Bridge and back up to Rawdon via woodland paths.
Please do not rely on the postcode to get you to the exact meeting point, check the map before setting off.
Walking boots are highly recommended due to the uneven terrain.
Please note that we will be going downhill throughout the first half of the walk and uphill on the return. We will be taking it steady. It is mostly a fairly gradual incline. There are brambles and nettles along the route so you may not want to wear shorts.
It is recommended that you bring a torch as it will be getting dark towards the end of the walk.
There is free parking in the car park at Micklefield Park. Public spaces are on the left as soon as you enter the car park. Please allow plenty of time to find the car park and potentially to look for alternative street parking if the car park is full.
The meeting point is on a main bus route.
Anyone bringing a dog will need to keep it on a short lead at all times please.
No toilets at the start or en route.
There are a couple of pubs within a short drive from the meeting point if anyone wanted to go for a drink after the walk.
