Train-based walk

Meet Point: Near the ticket barriers, or on the platform, at Victoria station. Alternatively, meet the group on the train or at the station in Settle.
Transport to Walk Start: 08:17 train from Manchester Victoria (final destination Ribblehead).
Suggested Ticket: Off-Peak Day Return to Settle £23.30.
Walk Start: Settle railway station at 10:05.
Waypoints: Scaleber Force, Attermire Scar, Victoria Cave, Catrigg Force, Stainforth, Hoffman Kiln, Langcliffe.
Return Services: 16:30 (if walk has finished by this time, change at Leeds), 18:21 (direct), 20:02 (change at Leeds), 21:46 (change at Leeds)
Extra: No toilets at walk start or en route. We should finish the walk in time to call at a local hostelry and there is also an excellent fish and chip take away.
A walk in the wonderful limestone country around Settle. We start walking up a steep road out of Settle to the first falls after which it is all off road apart from a very short stretch at the end. Access to get close to the waterfalls is tricky but can be avoided if desired. There are a couple of steep hills on route. A torch will be handy to explore the kiln.
Please carry plenty of food and drink to sustain you for a long day.
The walk will be undertaken at a steady pace with time to explore the scenery.
