Train based walk

Leader: Mark H (boarding the train at Rochdale)

Meet Point: Near the ticket barriers, or on the platform at Manchester Victoria Station. Alternatively, meet the group on the train, or at the Walk Start at Halifax station.

Transport to Walk Start: 09:57 train from Manchester Victoria (final destination Leeds).

Suggested Ticket: Halifax Off Peak Return £13.20

Walk Start: Halifax Railway Station at 10:45

Return Services:  3 trains an hour to Manchester Victoria

Extra: Please use the toilet on the train. There are no toilets at the walk start. Toilets available at Halifax Minster (if open). Optional drinks at the end of the walk. Please do not bring your dog (apart from assistance dogs)

A linear walk from Halifax to Hebden Bridge visiting Halifax Minster, built during the 15th century.

We then join the Hebble Trail. A sometimes-sinister path through Halifax's industrial underbelly.

Eventually we emerge into calming woodland, before strolling down the Calder Hebble Narrow Canal which leads on to the Rochdale Canal for a gentle walk through to Hebden Bridge.
