Overview

C WALK DESCRIPTION: Circular from Shatterford on the A442 road, north of Kidderminster. 7 miles with 900ft/270m of climbing. Picnic lunch. With our backs to the Severn valley, we will head north-east from Bellman's Cross, down along undulating paths, across fields and into Arley Wood. We then climb up to a high point at Starts Green farm where we hope to get some good views. We do a hairpin bend turn and descend gently down a ridge to Castle Hill. Bypassing Kingsford and Drakelow tunnels, we make our way to Bodenham Arboretum for tea. Our final section is a long climb back up to the starting point, and a visit to the Bellman's Cross Inn, if time.
