Overview

BOOKING REQUESTED

From Errwood Reservoir via the ruins of Errwood Hall, then there is a fairly stiff ascent to Foxlow Edge, The Street and Pym Chair, followed by a further gradual climb on a well-maintained track to the trig point at Shining Tor.  Descent is on a gentle, grassy path via Stakeside and the River Goyt back to the cars.  There are good views of the Goyt Valley on most of the walk.  Risk assessment: May be slippery in places after wet weather which also creates one stream crossing.  No stiles.  The only road walking will be near the car park on a quiet road.
