Whether you're an experienced walker easing yourself into the New Walking Year, or making a start on those New Years Resolutions, this attractive, easy going ten mile walk may be for you.
Starting at the King's Somborne recreation ground we will walk to Stockbridge along the disused railway and through Common Marsh. We will take a coffee break in Stockbridge (coffee shop or BYO) before heading up to Stockbridge Down. There (weather permitting) we will enjoy wide views in every direction as we eat our packed lunch. The third leg of the walk is mostly down hill through farmland back to King's Somborne.
This is a fairly easy going walk - some ups and downs but nothing too strenuous. Please bring supplies for two breaks - morning coffee in Stockbridge, lunch up on the Down. After the walk The Crown in King's Somborne is handy for a drink and chat before heading home.
Well managed dogs are welcome.
There are shops and public loos in Stockbridge, which we should reach by noon.
