This 8-9 mile (13-15km) circular walk from Harting Down National Trust car park offers spectacular South Downs views, combining the ridge-top South Downs Way with the woodland hamlet of Hooksway and ancient Bronze Age burial mounds known as the Devil's Jumps. Expect a moderate hike featuring a steep climb over Beacon Hill and a gradual climb returning to Harting Hill and our starting point.
Walk will stop for coffee & lunch breaks, so please bring your own refreshments. Starting from Harting Down NT car park - free for NT members (need to have your membership id details with you) phone/internet payment of £3 for non members using JustPark app. Location ID is 80586.
This is a cashless payment over the phone/internet I.e. cash/cards cannot be used to pay at the location .Set up the JustPark app before leaving home as phone signals may be inadequate this includes NT members as nothing can be scanned on site.
Walking poles are advisable as it can be slippery on chalk/mud on the steep terrain.
