South Shields with Fish & Chips
A leisurely, 5 mile, mud free walk with lovely views of South Shields. We begin with a walk through South Marine Park, and try not to be tempted by an Ice Cream. Then head south through Bents park and the Sports ground before a slow ascent to the England Coast path to turn north. We have a gentle descent to reach Sandhaven Beach, below Trow point, and will then walk on firm sand. The view of Tynemouth Priory is stunning as we head further north, taking in the sights and sounds around us. At the end of the beach, we will head further north to Ballast Hill. There are quite a number of steps up to Ballast Hill, but we will take our time. On Ballast hill there are some interesting historic items to see as we head back through North Marine park to Ocean Road.
After the walk, there is the chance to enjoy delicious Fish & Chips at Colmans. So don't have too much ice cream in the park!
