Overview

Although a short walk, and the pace leisurely, there is a demanding 1.5 miles uphill section from Hollin Hill/ Huthwaite Green to Gold Hill via Round Hill.

The views are extensive once up on top however, so worth the slow, for some, grind up.

There are no stiles.

There will be road walking at the beginning and end of the walk.

we spend 2 miles on The Cleveland Way which is firm underfoot.

There will be some muddy sections nevertheless.

At Whorlton, we will be passing the old village left deserted following the plague of the Middle Ages, leaving behind the remains of a church and castle.
