Start 10am. 8.4 miles 1824 feet ascent (OS Maps App). We rate the walk Moderate/Strenuous.

This is a circuit of Macclesfield Forest including the ascent of Shutlingsloe.

The route follows the footpath to Tegg's Nose Gate, Hacked Way Lane then forest paths to Forest Chapel, Standing Stone, Buxtor's Hill and Shutlingsloe. Return to CP by forest paths to Nessit Hill, Greenbarn, Ridgegate and Clarke Lane. Lovely views all day long - weather permitting.

No dogs please. Ground-nesting skylarks, lapwings, curlews (and sheep) particularly on Piggford Moor.
