Overview

Mod/stren, 9.00 miles 1550 ft ascent. Fantastic views. Please note that there are a lot of stiles, some quite tricky. The majority of the walk is moderate, but there is a fairly steep climb up towards Charles Head.

Route: Thorneycroft Farm, Charles Head, Summer Close, Jenkin Chapel, Fox Hill, Saltersford Hall, Redmoor (short section of nettles and brambles), Thursbitch (a valley with a derelict farmstead beneath Shining Tor). Haven't recce'd since the fires so not sure what the valley will look like. We continue on to Dunge Farm, where hopefully the stunning Rhododendrons will still be out, although they have been flowering very early this year. We continue on to Clough Farm, and return to start.

Bring food and drink for coffee and lunch stops. Fingers crossed for good weather as the views are fantastic.
