An inland and coastal walk passing industrial ruins and maybe finding prehistoric remains.
N.B. If you would like to join this walk but have not already pre-arranged to do so, please contact the walk leader in advance of travel.
We’ll drive from Tenby to the start of the walk in Amroth.
Meeting on the promenade opposite the New Inn, we shall walk along the promenade then turn inland, past Colby Woodland Garden.
We’ll join part of ‘The Knights Way’, a long-distance walking trail (which eventually goes to the city of St David’s).
We will pass the ruined remains of Stepaside Iron Works and follow the track where the former railway line carried coal from a dozen anthracite collieries.
We shall have a break to enjoy Wiseman’s Bridge before walking back to Amroth along the coast path and beach.
On the way we can look for signs of the petrified ice-age forest, fossilised antlers, animal bones and maybe, some Neolithic flint.
