Meet and park on Dover Road, Tilmanstone. (Please note the Dover Road runs parallel to the A256 (Eastry Bypass). It is best approached from the Whitfield end of the A256 by turning off at the Barville Road roundabout then taking an immediate right onto Dover Road).
This circular walk will be via North Court, Tilmanstone, across the old disused railway track to Eastry and up the Black Lane byway towards St Clements Church, Knowlton which was the private Chapel of Knowlton Court and later a parish Church. From Knowlton we follow footpaths towards Elvington and back to Tilmanstone.
(When the PROW was reinstated recently from the top of the Black Lane to St Clements Church, supporting evidence for its reinstatement suggests that it was part of the main route from Canterbury to Deal in the past).
