We are the Take a Hike Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A classic local walk through woodland and fields on a well worn route. Starting at Tong, meet at the Greyhound pub car park. Allow plenty of time to park as you may need to look for a space on street. We will walk down keepers Lane via the woods and cross Pudsey beck, then take a left to the Bank house and into Fulneck, site of the Moravian Settlement. Form Fulneck we return to the beck and follow it on our right until Roker Lane. Crossing the main road into Sykes wood through Cockersdale we then return to the start via Springfield Lane, ending at the Greyhound Pub.
For public transport, you could get the bus 254 at 10:54 from Leeds bus station and get off at Cockersdale opposite the Valley Inn. You would then need to walk a mile to Tong.
