A moderate and varied walk generally quite flat but with a few hills and stiles.
We take the footpath to the west of Hastoe Lane and get good views over Tring as we make our way to the edge of Dancers End Nature Reserve. We pass through open fields with widespread views and some woodland to Cholesbury. The first person to see the sails of Cholesbury Windmill wins an Easter Egg which they may like to share with the rest of the group! We get to see several different views of the windmill on our way to Cholesbury. If we don't reach the Full Moon pub by Noon we are April Fools! but being a Monday, it will probably be closed unless they make exceptions for Bank Holidays. On to Wiggington Bottom and some nice woodland where we expect to have our packed lunch. On to Cow Roast where there is more human activity around the canal. As we follow the Grand Union towpath North West, it starts to get puddly and muddy so waterproof boots are essential. There is an opportunity to rinse them off at a particular point later on. We leave the canal and take the Ridgeway Path to The Twist at Wiggington and (optionally) descend steeply through the Woods above Tring Park to the park-land, over the foot-bridge and back to our vehicles. Suggest a rendevous afterwards at The Kings Arms for anyone who would like some after-walk refreshment.

Well behaved dogs are allowed but as it is lambing season, there will be times when they will need to be on-lead, and on short stretches of road.
