Overview

Come & enjoy a circular walk around Troutsdale.  Taking in quiet forest tracks & paths, mixed woodland & open moor with delightful views of this lovely dale & surrounding area.

We will walk out along Troutsdale Brow towards Moor Road which will take us down to the bottom of the dale to cross a minor road before beginning our climb up the other side towards Backleys Farm with a coffee stop half way to enjoy the view & catch our breath!

Past the farm, following quiet forest tracks & paths we steadily make our way towards Troutsdale Moor & The Pinnacle where we will enjoy a welcome lunch stop.

Refreshed, we'll cross & leave Troutsdale Moor behind us as we re-enter the forest walking past Steel Burrows in the direction of Broadhead Farm before dropping down to the Conservation area which is managed with the help of a small group of Exmoor Ponies.   Following the beck, we pass Keepers Cottage before we begin our final ascent, joining a short section of minor road back up to Cockmoor Hall car park.

If the weather is kind on the day, why not bring an extra flask & a piece of your favourite slice to enjoy after the walk before your drive home.
