We are the Kensington, Chelsea and Westminster Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Pre-registration preferred.**
Moderately paced 10.9 mile walk in undulating terrain through the High Weald offering plenty of variety - woodland, parkland, massive sandstone outcrops, a nature reserve and the delights of Tunbridge’s Pantiles at the end of the walk.
About 5 hours walking.
Drop- out Points: Frant 4.4 miles/7km, Eridge Green 7miles/11.5km.
Route: Once we’ve left the suburbs of Tunbridge Wells, the route climbs through woodland to the hill top village of Frant, from where we make our way through Eridge Old Park to our lunch stop at Eridge Green. After lunch we pass the impressive sandstone outcrops of Eridge Rocks and then through Broadwater Warren Nature Reserve, before the final stage of the walk alongside the Spa Valley Railway to finish at the Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells.
Lunch Stop: Picnic/or Pub lunch at the Neville Crest & Gun in Eridge Green.Further refreshment opportunities at the Pantiles at end of walk.
Meet at Tunbridge Wells Station at 10.05.
Travel: Charing Cross 09.08/Waterloo East 09.11/Lon Bridge 09.17 - SE Hastings train arr 10.02.
Ticket/Fare: Off-Peak Return to Tunbridge Wells £19.40/ Railcard £12.80/SRC+FP £8.30.
Finish: Tunbridge Wells Station. Note: the estimated finishing time given is a guesstimate only and actual finish time will depend on numbers, speed at which the group walks - and the weather!
