Overview

The walk starts at Sir Tatton Sykes's Monument, Sledmere. York Road (a chalk track) descending into Garton Bottom, Cottam Well Dale, Phillip's Slack. A short steep ascent in Philip's Slack brings the party onto a farm access road to Cottam Grange, continuing on a field path towards Cottam House. The route continues across Cottam Airfield and along field paths to Cottam Warren Farm. We then descend into Garton Bottom once again along a private track (I have permission from the owner). We walk along this quiet country lane to the junction with York Road ascending the walk finishes back at Sledmere Monument.
