Venture up to the West Riding for a lovely, leisurely 5 mile circular walk around the lakes of St Aidan's RSPB nature reserve, returning via the canal towpath. Very easy, very leisurely pace to allow time for chat and nature spotting. No stiles, flat good paths and tracks throughout.
We will stop for coffee/cake/toasties at the excellent Green House coffee shop (outdoor seating only) towards the end of the walk, if weather is poor we will instead try Riversmeet cafe nearby (indoor seating). Toilets also available halfway at the RSPB visitor centre.
Bring binoculars. St Aidan's is home to many resident and seasonal migratory birds inclouding many rare species.
Dogs are very welcome but MUST be on short fixed leads please to protect both birds and wildlife on the reserve
