We are the Tavistock Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
We’ll be walking from Woolwell through Darklake Wood, Hatshill Wood and West Wood. You will see viaducts and old tramways. Part of the walk will be alongside the River Plym. Beautiful woodland and riverside scenery and sounds. So a change from open moorland and an opportunity to explore an area that you might not be familiar with.
Tracks and paths. Muddy in places, especially after rain. Some up and down but not too bad.
On recce took about 15 mins longer than usual to get there because of the roadworks. It was 40 minutes from Tavistock.
Bring a coffee for our mid-morning stop.
