Overview

This is a joint walk with South Shropshire Ramblers.

Exploring the Welsh Borders around Whitton, Powys. The walk will follow the footpaths from Whitton to Pilleth before ascending to Offa's Dyke footpath for the return.

We will be visiting the Church at Pilleth. Pilleth is the site of a major battle where Owain Glyndwr's Welsh forces defeated a larger English army led by Edmund Mortimer on June 22, 1402. This battle, also known as the Battle of Bryn Glas, was a significant victory for Glyndwr and is considered one of his most important early successes.
