Overview

This is a pretty walk following the river Colne to Brightlingsea and back. In the morning we will follow the river to Alresford Creek, passing farms and a vineyard. We then walk back to the River Colne following this to Brightlingsea. From there we head back toward the creek returning to Wivenhoe. Please bring a packed lunch. Lunch will be in Brightlingsea or just before depending on the weather and how quickly we walk. There are pubs and cafes in Brightlingsea. There may be an opportunity for a pub stop at the end in Wivenhoe. Note, it may be muddy in places if it has rained in recent days, please wear suitable footwear. Type of surroundings - riverside, countryside walking, very flat.

Please note that the estimated finishing is very much a guide only and no guarantee is made. It will depend on the pace of the group and the conditions on the day.
