We start the walk through the open countryside and woodland of Ashtead Common. Then join the Thames Down Link and head south through the beautiful Ashtead Park nature reserve. We follow the path through an upmarket part of Ashtead village, then into the countryside crossing the M25 to the pretty village of Headley, where we stop for lunch.
There is a pub and a tea shop, but please bring a packed lunch.
After lunch we head north under the M25 through the countryside to Epsom Downs, with its famous racecourse. We then take a path down hill to Epsom.
Travel: Take the 10.32 from Waterloo (Clapham Junction 10.41, Wimbledon 10.48), arrives Ashtead 11.11. There are several trains back to London from Epsom every hour. Please buy a return to Ashtead.
