Overview

Starting at the Swan inn at Newton on Rawcliffe . We will descend into Newton Dale  before ascending to Levisham moor and Skelton Tower .A long undulating path taking us to a steep decent into Newtondale halt. We return to our to our start point via Wardle Rigg, Brown Howe, Raindale Head

It is a strenuous walk with two steep decents and three steep ascents. With one gate which must be climbed and half the walk on little marked or trodden paths, the heather and bracken encroaches over the paths for a few sections.  I would describe it as a bit of an adventure walk. It's a beautiful walk with spectacular scenery and very varied terrain

If wet definitely gaiters and in any case I would suggest keeping legs covered .

Statistics . 16.45 km with 545 m of accent.
