From East Stratton we walk through a muddy section in woodland to start with and then on through fields and woodland for a bring you own refreshment stop in Brown Candover where there should be seats overlooking the cricket pitch though don’t expect play on 7 December. We head North almost to Dummer mainly on farm tracks and lanes before sitting by the field edge for a picnic lunch and turning South to a woodland section which is usually fine walking lest heavy machinery has been in recently leaving ruts. Through lanes then a short section on the country road we head back to East Stratton .
Even though we are in the heavily populated South East of England you wouldn’t think it on this walk as the farmed Hampshire countryside provides the main backdrop for the day. Although there are undulations there are no significant climbs and the route is stile free unless someone builds one since writing this.
