Overview

10 am Adlington Road CP, Bollington. About 6 miles with around 750ft of ascent/descent.

We start with a long but mostly shallow climb from the Middlewood Way and canal via Dawson Farm, Endon Hall and Lower Swanscoe Farm to the Saddle of Kerridge, descend via the Gritstone Trail to pick up the lower path along the Rainow side of the ridge to the foot of White Nancy and end with a steep descent on roads through Bollington to the canal, returning to the car park via the aqueduct an recreation ground.    Great views both westwards across the Cheshire Plain and eastwards onto the peak district.    Quite a bit of road walking to avoid the worst of the mud, but paths will be muddy so wear stout boots and bring walking poles (if you use them).    Possibility of lunch at the Vale Inn afterwards; text me on 07941 290684 for any queries about the walk or to book lunch
